The problem is it hasnt been very effective so far.
The sun is the most common source of energy on the planet, but because of the Earth’s shape and temperature fluctuations the sun’s rays are not evenly distributed. The greenhouse effect is basically a version of our solar system that includes the sun (which is also in orbit) and Earth (which is directly below the sun, but is much hotter than the sun and needs to be protected).
This is in fact one of the main reasons why the Earth’s atmosphere is so thick. The greenhouse effect prevents sunlight from getting very far from the Earth’s surface. The more energy the Earth is sending out, the harder it becomes to get it back.
